Not listed in the major references Dr. Bland has noted regarding this coin: "Instead of the branch of peace, Pax holds here the laurel-branch of victory. This theme reminds [one] of the 'Antiochene' type, RIC IV 189a, but this coin has a style of its own and especially the obverse is surprisingly well executed. Possibly a sort of trial coin of the 'Antiochene' mint (meaning his 'anciliary mint, Viminacium')."
