Sale: Triton X, Lot: 807 Very rare denomination for Eugenius. From the Mark Poncin Collection. Ex Gemini I (11 January 2005), lot 480; Lanz 109 (27 May 2002), lot 900; Lanz 100 (20 November 2000), lot 653.Gnecchi records only six miliarenses for Eugenius of four different types. Though Gnecchi personally possessed an example in his own collection which was struck from the same dies as the present specimen, he incorrectly listed the reverse legend as VIRTVS EXERCITVS instead of GLORIA ROMANORVM. |
